Fall in love with your home all over again
If your home is starting to look a little tired, and you want it to look like new, use a little TLC to make it look beautiful again.

There is a minimum of 5 things you can do to bring your home back to life:

  1. Curb Appeal:
If your front and backyards are looking a little sad, spruce them up by simply adding some color. Go to your local home improvement store or nursery and purchase flowering plants in season. This will liven up your home and make it look fresh. Freshen up the bark while you are at it. Bark fades after a while, simply add another coat.
  2. Front Entrance: (the door)
Freshen up your front door. Make it stand out with a new coat of clear varnish, or give it a whole new color to bring attention to it. Many people feel they would need to replace an old door, but a fresh coat of varnish or paint works wonders and makes the entrance stand out.
  3. De-clutter:
You've been in your home for a few years and have collected quite a few things. You feel a bit overwhelmed and don't know where to begin. Take it one room at a time, one day at a time. By focusing on one room at a time, you'll be able to concentrate and remove the things that no longer belong in that room, or no longer need. Just think of all the extra storage you'll have.
  4. Arrange:
Re-arrange your furniture, change things around, i.e. move things from your family room over to your living room, and vise versa. Do the same with pictures. You may want to add some family portraits to your family room over the fireplace to make it more personal. By going room by room and making simple changes such as new bedding, window coverings, or adding a piece or two, you will give your home an entirely newer and fresher look.
  5. Paint:
Don't be afraid to use color. Add some to your walls if you haven't already. Paint always goes a long way, and it adds warmth to your home.

Many people think they have to go out and spend a fortune in order to make their home look beautiful. That's not true. You begin working with what you already have, and if necessary, buy an accessory or two to complete the picture.

You've made a big investment when you purchased your home, be proud of it. Consult with a local Interior Decorator or a Home Stager if you need suggestions and/or recommendations.
